Support access
A login for FSM Developments, who make WSManager, so they can help with a problem on any screen.
When to use
- FSM Developments asks to look at a problem with you.
- You want to see who has support access, or switch it off.
Only Owners see this. It is at the bottom of Settings, then Staff, under FSM Developments support access.
Overview
The support login is an Owner account created by FSM Developments. It signs in like anyone else and has full Owner access.
It is not one of your staff. It does not record time and has no PIN, payroll code or work calendar. It is left out of every staff list, count and picker, such as timesheets, payroll, the bookings page, job forms and the shared PC’s name list. Its name ends (FSM Developments support).
If there is no support access set up for your workshop, the page says so.
Key features
- What you see: its name, email, last sign-in and status (Active or Suspended).
- Suspend access ends its session at once. It cannot sign in until you restore access.
- Restore access switches it back on.
- Everything it does is in the audit log, under that name. So are suspending and restoring it.
- You cannot edit it, give it a PIN or change its role from your side.
- Your workshop must always keep at least one active Owner of its own. The support login does not count.
How to: suspend support access
- Go to Settings, then Staff.
- Under FSM Developments support access, select Suspend access and confirm.
How to: restore support access
On the same page, select Restore access.
Tips & gotchas
- A suspension by you is not undone by FSM Developments sending a new link.
- Suspend access when a support job is finished if you prefer to keep it off.
