Jobs

The job dashboard: every job and its status on one page, with counts, filters and search.

When to use

• You want to see what is open, what is on hold and what is waiting for parts.
• You are looking for a job by number, customer, rego or fleet number.
• You are in the office, or a supervisor, and plan the day’s work.

Supervisors, Office and Owners use the dashboard. Technicians use My jobs and Find a job. A shared workshop PC can view the dashboard read only.

Overview

The page header says how many jobs match, and today’s date. Across the top are List view and Board view. Below are the status counts, a search bar and the table of jobs.

Key features

• Status counts. All jobs, then one count for each status. Select one to filter by it.
• Search by job number, customer, rego, fleet number, serial, vessel or work description.
• Filters by Type, Staff member (someone booked on the job) and Customer.
• Table columns: Job, Status, Customer, Asset, Type, Where (workshop or field), Booked for, Staff.
• Overdue badge on a Booked job whose bookings are all before today.
• Latest 500. Only the latest 500 jobs show when there are very many. Filter or search to narrow the list.
• Board view shows the same jobs as columns. See The job board.

How to: find a job

1. Open Jobs.
2. Type in Search. Use a job number, a customer name, a rego or a fleet number.
3. Optionally choose a Type, Staff member or Customer.
4. Select Search. Select Clear to start again.

How to: see only jobs in one status

1. Select a status in the row of counts, for example Awaiting parts.
2. The search keeps that status while you type.

How to: start a new job

Select New job. See Creating a job.

Tips & gotchas

• The dashboard shows no costs.
• On a shared workshop PC, the job number opens the job read only, and Job card opens the card to print.
• Complete and cancelled jobs are on the dashboard under their own status.
