The job board
The same jobs as the dashboard, laid out as a column for each status. Drag a card to another column to change its status.
When to use
- You plan the workshop’s work and want to see it at a glance.
- You want a wall screen in the workshop showing where every job is.
Supervisors, Office and Owners can view and move jobs. A shared workshop PC views it read only, as a wall screen. Technicians do not have the board.
Overview
Open Jobs, then Board view. Each column is a status, with its job count and the total of the expected hours. Each card shows the job number, the customer and a coloured edge in the job type’s colour, then the fields chosen by the card template. Overdue jobs are outlined in red and say so.

Key features
- Columns: Booked, Parts to order, Awaiting parts, In progress, To invoice, Complete, On hold and Cancelled.
- Complete and cancelled columns show only jobs that got there within a range. Choose the range under Complete and cancelled: last 7 days, last 30 days (the default), this month, last month, or all time. They show at most 200 cards.
- Search and filters: Search, Type, Staff member and Location (workshop or field). Select Apply to use them and Clear to reset.
- Stages: the Stages menu lets you tick the columns to show. WSManager remembers your choice. Show all stages clears it.
- Card template: choose a template under Card template and select Use template. Each person picks their own. See Board cards settings.
- Refresh: reloads the board. A wall screen on a shared device reloads itself every 60 seconds.
How to: move a job
- Press and hold a card for a moment, or drag it, then drop it on another column.
- If the move needs a reason (Cancel job, Mark complete, or optionally On hold), a box asks for it. Enter it and confirm.
- If the board refuses the move, a message at the top says why.
You can also use the menu on each card, which has a button for each move you are allowed. This works without dragging, for example on a keyboard.
Tips & gotchas
- The board uses the same rules as the job page’s buttons. If the job page would refuse a move for you, so will the board.
- Dropping a job in To invoice from In progress takes you to the job page’s Work finished form, because it needs the meter reading and next service due.
- If someone else moved the job first, the board reloads with a note.
- The labour rate on a card shows only to people who can edit jobs, never on a shared device.
