Getting started
The basics: how to sign in, what your role lets you do, and how to use WSManager on the workshop PC and on a phone.
When to use
Read this section if you are new to WSManager, or if you are an Owner setting up your team.
Overview
- An Owner adds you as a staff member and gives you a role. If you will clock on, they tick Records time on your staff record.
- You sign in with your email address and a password you set yourself, using a one-time link from the Owner.
- After you sign in, people who record time land on Clock. Office staff and Owners who do not record time land on Jobs.
- If you use the workshop PC, set a PIN first so you can pick your name there.
Key features
- Signing in: email and password, staying signed in on your phone, and what to do if you forget your password.
- Roles: Owner, Office, Supervisor and Technician, and what each can do.
- The shared workshop PC: how to clock on with your name and PIN.
- Using a phone: put WSManager on your home screen and clock on in one tap.
How to: get a new person started (Owner)
- Go to Settings, then Staff, then Add staff member.
- Enter their name, email, mobile and role. Tick Records time if they will clock on.
- Save, then choose Create reset link. Give them the link in person or by text. It works once and expires in 24 hours.
- They open the link, choose a password of at least 10 characters, and sign in.
- If they will use the workshop PC, ask them to set a PIN on My PIN, or set a temporary PIN for them.
Tips & gotchas
- WSManager does not send email. Reset links are shown on screen for you to pass on.
- Someone who only ever uses the workshop PC does not need an email address or a password, just a PIN.
- Deactivating a staff member stops them signing in but keeps their time and job history.
