PartsImport and export

Import and export

Download your parts list as a spreadsheet, edit prices, and upload it again.

When to use

  • You want to update many prices at once.
  • You are setting up the parts list from an existing spreadsheet.
  • You want a copy of the parts list.

Office and Owner can import and export. Import works only when the parts list source is the WSManager list. When the source is Xero items, the list is changed in Xero and Export CSV and Export Excel are still available.

Overview

The file has one part per row and a header row. Export first to see the columns. Files can be CSV or Excel (.xlsx) and up to 5 MB.

The columns are Code, Description, Category, Unit, Supplier, SupplierPartNumber, Cost, Sell, Markup and Active. The supplier is written as its suffix.

Key features

  • Column mapping. After you upload, say which column holds what. Columns that match a heading are chosen for you.
  • Check before changing. WSManager shows a preview of New, Changed, Unchanged and Errors and changes nothing until you confirm.
  • Changed parts show the old and new cost and sell price.
  • Mark parts not in the file inactive is optional. Parts are never deleted.
  • Errors list the row, the code and the problem. Those rows are skipped.

How to: export the parts list

  1. Open Parts.
  2. Select Export CSV or Export Excel. The file is named like WSManager_Parts_20261016.csv.
