Checklists

Service checklists printed for a job, with the job’s details filled in and room to tick and initial each item.

When to use

  • A job needs a service checklist, for example a truck, machine or boat service.
  • You want to add or remove a checklist on a job.

Overview

A checklist is a template an Owner keeps in Checklists settings. A job type can have a default checklist, which is added to each new job of that type. Checklists are printed. They are not ticked off on screen.

Key features

  • Add or remove checklists on a job. Office, Supervisors and Owners can do this on the job page.
  • Print with the card (each checklist on its own page after the card), or on their own with Print checklists.
  • Pre-filled header with the job number, customer, rego or boat name, fleet number, meter in, the people allocated and the date.
  • Paper colour shown in the header as a reminder of which paper to use.
  • Colour band across the top of the sheet.
  • Initial and Comments columns for every item. Section headings are shaded lines.
  • A long checklist runs onto more pages with its header repeated.

How to: add a checklist to a job

  1. Open the job and go to Checklists.
  2. Under Add checklist, choose a checklist and select Add checklist.

How to: print checklists on their own

  1. On the job page, select Print checklists. It shows only if the job has a checklist.
  2. Select Print.

How to: remove a checklist

On the job page, select Remove beside the checklist and confirm.

Tips & gotchas

  • Printing is recorded on the job’s history.
  • If you change a job’s type before anything is printed, the old type’s default checklist is swapped for the new type’s.
  • An inactive checklist cannot be added to jobs. Jobs that already have it keep it.
  • A shared workshop PC can print a job’s checklists.
