Board cards settings

What each job card on the job board shows, column by column.

When to use

  • You want cards on the board to show different details.
  • You set up a wall screen for the workshop.

Only Owners can change board card templates. Everyone then picks the template for their own view.

Overview

A template is a grid of fields against the board’s status columns. Three are made for you: Compact, Standard (the default) and Detailed. The Board cards page lists templates with whether they are the default, how many people use them, and status.

Key features

  • Fields: asset, fleet number, job type, location, booked date, allocated staff, expected hours, hours recorded, planned vs actual hours, description, order number, hold reason, days in status, created, next service due, checklists, site hazards, completed date, cancelled reason and labour rate.
  • Columns. Tick the columns each field shows in. The Order number sets where the field sits on the card, lowest first, in every column.
  • Copy the Booked column to every column and Start from a preset help you build one fast.
  • Preview. Update preview draws a card for each column the way the board draws it, using the latest real job in each status, or made-up values if there is none.
  • Default and Active. One template is the default. An inactive template falls back to the default for the people who chose it.
  • Labour rate shows only to people who can edit jobs, never on a shared device.

How to: make a template

  1. Go to Settings, then Board cards, then New template.
  2. Enter a Name.
  3. In the Fields grid, tick where each field shows and set its order.
  4. Select Update preview to check it.
  5. Select Add template.

How to: choose a template for your own view

On the job board, choose it under Card template and select Use template.

How to: delete a template

Open it and select Delete this template. A template that is the default, or that people have chosen, cannot be deleted. Make it inactive instead.

Tips & gotchas

  • The buttons that change the grid show the form again. Only Save or Add template writes.
  • Saves are recorded in the audit log.
