Mileage rates settings

One rate per vehicle, per km, excluding GST.

When to use

You charge mileage for travel to field jobs.
A vehicle’s rate changes, or you add a vehicle.

Only Owners can change mileage rates.

Overview

Staff choose the vehicle when they record travel, and enter the km. The Mileage rates page lists each rate with its name, rate, how many travel entries use it, and status.

Key features

Name, for example Mileage - ute. It is what staff see when they choose the vehicle.
Rate ($ per km, excluding GST).
Order in the list.
Active. An inactive rate is not offered any more. Existing entries keep it.

Without any mileage rates, travel can still be recorded, without a vehicle.

How to: add a mileage rate

Go to Settings, then Mileage rates, then Add mileage rate.
Enter the Name and Rate.
Select Add mileage rate.

Tips & gotchas

The vehicle and km are optional when someone records travel. They can be added later on the entry.
Make a rate inactive instead of removing it.
